Wow! I can't believe September is almost upon us!
It's been a busy year for us, and an eventful one. We've had a lot of changes in our lives, large and small.
The largest and most obvious are that I am no longer working and that Dan has a new job. I have been on short term disability since the first of the year and am taking this time to focus on both my mental and physical well being. I spent the first part of the year learning how to mentally adjust to dealing with chronic pain and my emotions about it. This is still something I work on every day, but it is getting easier and I am proud of the progress I have made. I'm still researching my options for my physical health and while I have not yet found anything particularly promising, I am hoping to be seen by both the pain clinic and spine center at UCSF in the next few weeks.
Dan started working for PG&E in their materials management department in May after being let go from CytoSport. The transition was scary, but ultimately things ended well for him - he received a promotion and enjoys the new challenges his job no offers, but we both miss the short commute he had before - he now BARTs into SF everyday. He's now settled into his now job and is beginning to head several new projects. I am very proud of him and how much he has accomplished not only during his short time at PG&E, but how much he has grown in his field in the past three years.
One other big change. We were recently blessed with a new addtion to our family - an adorable one-year-old Shih Tzu named Pudge. She has been a part of our family for about 4 weeks, and we've all settled in comfortably together. You are all probably going to kill me for posting without a picture, but I promise there will be a lot soon.
